About
ghi and our products
ghis
mission since 1996 has been to create information services focused
on the opening up of competitive retail and wholesale markets and
the convergence of energy and communications.
ghi
is led by George Spencer. He has more than 40 years of experience
in the energy industry and founded many top newsletters including
Gas Daily, U.S. Oil Week, Coal Outlook and Air Daily.
This year the Center for the Advancement of Energy Markets
(CAEM) honored him with the Paul Revere Award for developing
insight and perspective for more than two decades of reporting on
changes in energy markets.
Restructuring
Today
ghi
launched Restructuring Today in 1996, the nations leading
daily news source focused on the opening up of competitive retail
and wholesale markets and the convergence of energy and communications.
No other publication is more focused, so completely and deeply,
on the opening up of competitive markets.
Other
unique selling points include:
RT is written so that its quick and easy to read, understand
and act on.
RT goes beyond the basic news by analyzing whats
happening in emerging markets.
RT provides in-depth, exclusive interviews with leading
industry CEOs regularly.
RT covers many industry conferences.
RT has a subscriber-only online database with an archive
of past issues.
RT is delivered electronically and by fax.
Restructuring
Today has thousands of readers, many paying from $487 to $4000
(corporate licenses) to get it.
We
do not allow advertising in Restructuring Today but dont
hesitate to submit your press release or story idea to our editor,
George Spencer, at editor@restructuringtoday.com.
Please include your contact information.
BPL
Today
ghi
launched BPL Today on September 13 2004, a
weekly newsletter chronicling the creation of the emerging broadband
over power lines industry -- being created as electric utilities
jump into the competitive world of internet and communications using
poles and wires they already own.
BPL Today's readership is growing fast and the publication
is showing great promise.
We
do not allow advertising in BPL Today but, again, dont
hesitate to submit your press release or story idea to BPL Today's
editor, Sam Spencer, at sam@ghinews.com.
Please include your contact information.
ghi^markets
ghi launched ghi^markets in mid-2003, a free weekly
e-zine focused on the opening up of competitive retail and wholesale
markets and the convergence of energy and communications.
ghi^markets
was created when the industry was in big trouble. Professionals
in our field were loosing their jobs and companies were going under.
Some RT readers couldnt afford the news they had come
to trust and depend on. With ghi^markets weve
created a community for those readers and others who enjoy our distinctive
views and voice on emerging markets.
ghi^markets
is also used to promote Restructuring Today, ghis
audio conferences and CDs and partner companies products and services.
ghi^markets
is a compilation of stories that were originally published in Restructuring
Today with only minor editing. ghi^markets has over 25,000 energy
professional subscribers.
Live
Interactive Audio Conferences
ghi
launched its very first live interactive audio conference in January
of 2003 titled The Ball is in FERCs Court with FERC
Chairman Pat Wood and prominent Washington energy lawyer Mike Naeve
of Skadden Arps as speakers. It was an out of the ballpark
home run with 200 lines sold ($150 - $200 each) and over 1000 people
on the call.
Since
then weve done twelve live interactive audio conferences with
an average of 70 registrations (350 participants) each covering
issues of great importance to our industry, including SMD, the August
blackout, building liquidity, LNG, developing markets in the West
and more.
Our
speakers are recognized experts, including Arnold Schwarzeneggers
energy advisor, FERCs market oversight chief, presidents of
two big LNG firms, top advisors at big-name energy brokerage houses
and consulting firms, several state commissioners, executives and
advisors at some of Americas most influential utilities and
a FERC commissioner.
ghis
live interactive audio conferences answer vital questions, give
our customers what they need, increase our in-house prospect lists
and strengthen the editorial reputation of Restructuring Today
and ghi^markets. We plan on stepping up this side of
the business in the future.
Recordings and transcripts of our audio conferences are available
and sold on audio CD.
